P is for Packing

The Davis' are packing up and moving out.  My mom recently remarried and moved to the big city and we decided to buy her house.  More on that soon, I promise! We are excited, so excited in fact that the kids have been begging for days to start packing their own rooms.  If you know me at all, you know I procrastinate.  I have no idea where I learned that from ;).   My kids, however, are more like their daddy in this aspect.  So after cleaning the new house all night, I figure today is the day to give in and start packing. Bray had to find the prefect box for his most prized possessions. Katie Beth just wanted any box and FAST! She was bound and determined not to let Bray get ahead of her.
YES! Those are Xbox games and Barbies! Packed and ready for travel.  Books were next, don't ask how many boxes of books we packed.  Remember, I am a teacher.  Did I say P was 4 Procrastination or Packing?  Better get off here and start PACKING! Looks like both are beating me!

G is for Go Get 'Em NOT Good Bye!

Typing through tears right now, tears of joy, tears of pride, tears of love, and just maybe a little selfish tear or two because we will miss this amazing young man that has been part of our family now for two years.  I know that boys have to leave the nest and spread their wings and fly, in this case literally! But, I didn't know I would get this worked up over one that isn't related to me.
BACKGROUND:  For the past few years we have had a house full of high school boys over to eat on Thursday nights during football season. These O-Line dinners have changed my life! I Love getting to know the boys that my husband spends so much time with during the week.  My kids LOVE knowing the big boys on the field on Friday night and having someone to support by form of button on their shirt, cheer for throughout the game, and high five afterwards.  Over the years these boys have become half mine.  The older I get *cough-cough* the more I feel like a momma to them!

YESTERDAY: Jeremy came by to say good bye before he left Oklahoma for the comforts of Colorado by way of the US Air Force Academy Wrestling Team!!! This is the same Jeremy that brought my kids Christmas presents, would allow my five year old to sit through multiple innings of baseball with all the cool high school fans, and who always made time to stop and say hi no matter how busy he was.

Bray was super sad the Jerms was going without playing Xbox one last time.  So, after rearranging his schedule, he came back TODAY to spend an hour with Bray playing baseball on the Xbox.  Really? Who does that for a 5 year old when he has a momma and daddy, little brother, best friend and girlfriend to say good bye to?  This guy did!
Ok so do you get my tears? This kid is amazing! The next time I see him, he won't be a kid, he will be a man!  One that is going to serve our country.  US Air Force, you are getting the BEST!  Jeremy Delzer, we love you more than you will ever know!!! We are saying Good Luck and Go Get 'Em!! And, come see us when you are in town!

B is 4 Begining

Ok, here goes the beginning of my new web adventure.  I love to write, I just never take the time to do so.  I love my family, even though they decided to spread out all over the state and country. Hawaii is still in the good ole’ USA, isn’t it? So this little blog is my way of trying to keep my family of four connected to our extended family.  Everyone must begin somewhere, so here I go….
